Welcome
“Aestus” (pronouced: ay-stoos) is an ancient Latin word that means “passionate fire”.
- This, first of all describes what we believe about God: He is wild and consuming, He purifies and comforts, He reveals and illuminates, He destroys and in so doing brings new life.
- Secondly, Aestus describes what we believe about our purpose, the mission our wild God has given us. For a fire will thrive and continue as long as it is not contained. Once it is contained, it dies. In similar fashion, we believe God has sent us into the world – to jump the line – and ignite hearts with the life, grace, power, and truth of Jesus until the entire planet is filled with souls emblazoned and alive.
- Thirdly, Aestus describes who we are becoming as Christ followers: people who live everyday with a Jesus-kind of passion for life and people.
